"Making Decisions Based on Emotion is NEVER a Good Thing"

In two, unrelated stories, Joe and Dustin show why making decisions based on how you feel is not the way the Founders would have done it. First, we travel to Provo, UT. In this small, conservative, and highly religious community, the City Council and Mayor show their unprincipled way of handling the 'enormous gang infiltration.' You will laugh when you find out how. Next, our good friend, Micheal Moore drops in to tell us how despicable greedy capitalists are. The rich are hording their money and need to give it back to the people it belongs to.

"Peace, Commerce and Honest Friendship with All Nations; Entangling Alliances with None"

Thomas Jefferson once said, "Peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations; entangling alliances with none," regarding our Nation's foreign policy. What is happening today in Egypt is a perfect example of why this advice from Jefferson is important to follow. A word or two about Judge Vinvent and the overturn of Obamacare. Anti-capitalist protesters in California and why they are biting the hand that feeds them. Finally, Joe and Dustin speak briefly about their new book, Restoring America: 12 Principles That will Save our Country, Communities, and Families.

"The State of Confusion"

This week, Joe and Dustin spend time on the President's Campaign (oops, I mean State of the Union) address. Let's see: make a little unprincipled decision here and give a little unprincipled stimulus there. Rhetoric and bromides galore. How did the State of the Union stack up against the 12 Principles of Liberty?

"Even Dustin Falls off the Principal Wagon Once in a While"

Can it be true?  Dustin, Co-Founder of United in Liberty and one of the two individuals who penned the 12 Principles of Liberty can have an unprincipled thought?  Believe it or not…it is true.  Joe and Dustin spend some time today on two, obscure news stories.  More genuinely, they spend some time dissecting the comments sections of these stories.  It is easy to let your gut guide your decisions if you forget to stop, breathe, and then think!

"There is a Solution to the Jared Loughners of the World, but it's not What you Think"

The media is all over the Tucson shooting.  As you can imagine, the Liberals want to blame the Conservatives and the Conservatives do not know who to blame.  The Pima County Sheriff is all over the news outlets trying to get his 15 minutes of fame.  The problem is, he is more concerned about blaming Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck for the shooting than he is about prosecuting the shooter.  What do we do with the Jared Laughners of the world?  How about a collective deep breath while we return to principles?  There is a solution and Dustin and Joe will share it with you on this week’s United in Liberty Radio.

"The "Constitution Loving' is Just Getting Out of Hand"

There was a new Speaker of the House sworn in today. One of the first things on the agenda is to read the Constitution of the United States on the floor of the House of Representatives. Unfortunately, there are some that think it is an "old" document that is too hard for us to understand. There are others who think there are clauses in there that Madison never wrote. As we begin the New Year, where do you stand on the Constitution? Do you just 'Love it too much'?

  "Do You Feel Safe?"

Last week, the Director of National Intelligence, James Clapper was caught off guard with regard to a major terror plot bust that everyone in the country seemed to know about except him.  Rather than admit his mistake, the Department of Homeland Security did it best to cover it up.  Do you feel safe?  A lady was arrested because she refused to be molested in an airport security screening area.  Do you feel safe? It is now illegal to sell Mt. Dew and Snickers in school; just ask Elmo? Do you feel safe?  Are we trading freedom for security?  Do we deserve either?

"Do You Hate the Rich?"

It's a simple question, but the way you answer it (if you are honest) may tell a lot about who you are.  Dustin breaks down an article by Bernie Goldberg entitled, "Thank God for Rich People."  Who are the rich?  Should we love them or covet their lives?  In this insightful episode of United in Liberty Radio, you may learn a few principles that might change the way you feel about the so-called 'RICH.'

"Obama's Tax Cuts: Principles or Politics?"

Ok, who are you and what have you done with POTUS? It seems that we have a new Commander in Chief. This one gives tax cuts to all Americans - regardless of income. Is Obama finally seeing the light? Hardly. Listen as Joe and Dustin break down the Obama Press Conference to find the principles . . . or lack thereof. Also, Walmart and Big Sis. When is the last time you saw something suspicious at your neighborhood supermarket? Did you report it to the man in the blue vest? They can help, you know.

"Wikileaks and the Freedom of the Press"

From a Principle-based standpoint, is what Julian Assange and Wikileaks doing okay? Is it treason to print secret military documents or is that just journalism? What would the Founders think? Also, Eric Cantor and the health care bill. Proving once again that unprincipled people can be found on either side of the aisle.

"The Solution to 'Don't Touch my Junk"

The Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) has been in the news a lot lately. From the "Don't touch my junk!" video to underwire bra checks to being forced to drink your own breast milk. Anyone with half a brain recognizes that this governmental 'enforcement' agency is out of control. But what do we do about it? We have to have safety on our airplanes, right? Is there a way to balance security with privacy? Indeed there is and the answer to the question is on this week's episode. Furthermore, it comes from a most unusual source . . . none other than . . . Archie Bunker.

"So, Now What?"

Unless you are living under a rock...literally...you know that Tuesday marked a historic day for Conservatives across the country. Though not universally true, exit polls indicate most were voting for their candidate due to principles.  We, as a country, are moving in a right direction (both figuratively and literally).  So, now what?  Where do we go from here?  Now that the Republicans have control over the House, what is the next logical step?  Is it such a bad thing that they did not gain control over the Senate?  How would the Founders have looked at this victory?  What would it have looked like if we had no 17th Amendment?  Also, and maybe most importantly, what does Dustin want for Christmas?

"This Tuesday, Vote for Principles rather than Parties"

Much talk has occurred regarding the upcoming election. Will it be a blow-out in favor of the Republicans?  Are the American people fed up with the debt, tax increases, politician’s lies, etc.?  Have enough of us awaken to the fact that voting is a right to not be taken lightly?  This week, Joe and Dustin break down the November 2 elections and why it is essential you get out to vote.  Do not vote this year like you have in year’s past.  It is time to take a stand, not for the Republicans, but for PRINCIPLE

"Unintended Consequences of Health Care Legislation"

The unintended consequences of the health care law are already starting to rear their ugly face.  Boeing (a small Mom and Pop company) recently announced it would have to cut its employee health coverage.  This comes on the back of McDonalds and 3M doing the same.  There is no free lunch and Dustin and Joe break down why using the 12 Principles of Liberty.  Also, what is the Proper Role of Government?  Is it to provide, "A roof over your head, food on the table, and money in your pocket?"  Some think so.  Elections are coming.  Are you voting party line or are you voting for those with Principles?  What will you do when your neighbors come to you for who to vote for?

"The 'Hypocrisy of Emotion' vs. Principles"

Joe Olivas discusses those who represent you and I in Washington and the hypocrisy that takes place when one argues or takes the emotional position rather than the principled one. Drawing from the self ascribed "Mom-in-Chief's" remarks as she hits the campaign trail in the name of change, better future for our children and grand children and the success of the change her husband, our beloved President, said he would bring. Listen as he dissects her remarks, going step-by-step and addressing the 12 Principles of Liberty along the way. Hear about the hypocrisy with Barney Frank and his "rich" friends and Harry Reid's lack of accountability for the state he represents. The "Hypocrisy of Emotion" is everywhere, both sides of the isle and it will take "Principle Based" groups of people to correct our nation's course.

  "Piggy Backing Principles"

Take five, seemingly unrelated news stories; The EPA wants to regulate....dust, A man is sued by his local county government for growing....vegetables, Food stamp recipients hit a record high, The Federal Government fails to disclose millions of dollars in Stimulus Spending despite their promises to account for every dollar, and Biden want to strangle Republicans for wanting to...balance the budget.  Not only do they all related to the 12 Principles of Liberty, but they all seem to relate to one another.  No, this was not some, diabolical, planned occurrence by the hosts of United in Liberty Radio.  Find out how to look for principles in the news stories of the day and in your everyday life.

"Several News Stories; Several Principles"

An out of control Cop who killed two girls wants Worker's Comp.  A prostitution law is struck down in Canada.  Harvard Pilgrim Insurance Co. cancels its Medicare Advantage plan.  Obama thinks Fox News is "Destructive to [American's} long-term growth," but thinks Jon Stewart's "Restoring Sanity" rally is great.   Caterpillar is hiring...in China!  Reusable grocery bags are infested with harmful bacteria.  Census data shows marriages were down in 2009.  Finally, the House passes the 911 workers aid bill.  What do all of these stories have to do with one another?  Simple; they all related to the 12 Principles of Liberty.

"Principles of Liberty #3 and #11 as Seen by Donald Trump"

Why is it that the majority of people, whenever they see a perceived injustice, run to the government to solve the problem?  "There ought to be a law," they cry!  Maybe that is why the majority of people are living in scarcity.  How do 'successful' people handle problems?  Do they run to Big Brother?  While the majority of Americans are complaining about the proposed mosque at Ground Zero, at least one capitalist is trying to DO SOMETHING about it.  Donald Trump teaches us a great lesson this week.  If you want to change something, ask a capitalist.  Trump, and others, did not get where they are by whining to the law every time they saw an unfortunate situation.  We will also explore why most CEOs (Capitalists) dislike Obama.  Finally, would our Commander in Chief rather win the war in Afghanistan or the election?

"O'Donnell's win Symbolic for Fever of Country"

This week, Delaware's Republican primary kicked a RINO out and placed a Tea Party favorite in the hot seat.  Christine O'Donnell's win shows, not only where Delaware stands, but where the country is as a whole.  Mainly, we are tired of voting for the party man simply because of the letter behind the name.  The country is fed up with party politics and is looking for the principle-based candidates.  Carl Rove's despicable rant on Hanity was another example of old-school, politics as usual.  Also, videos on garbage trucks to make sure we are recycling.  Raising revenue for the transportation department through a drive-thru tax.  Also, who is Barack Obama?  Forbe's cover story has the scoop and it explains a lot.

"Assault Weapons, Labor Day and the $1 Menu at McDonald's"

A man defends his wife, children, and home from invasive gang members and ends up being arrested for doing so.  The homeless are not enjoying the 'Happy Meals' at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.  In fact, they are crying 'foul' as the $1 menu prices jump to $1.50!  What will they do now?  There is only one other choice. Find out what that choice is.  Finally, our Labor Secretary tells us why the socialist holiday-Labor Day-is so important.  She also lays out the great accomplishments that have taken place since last Labor Day 2009.  You will not believe how far we have come, Baby.

"Private vs. Public Discrimination"

Is it okay for a town to ask that visitors respect their local customs and dress modestly?  Should a restaurant owner be allowed to ban Blacks from their establishment?  How about a government?  There is a difference between Private and Public discrimination.  Dustin outlines the distinction.  Also, a new feature on United in Liberty Radio...."GutCheck."  Several stories ripped from the headlines and never read before the show.  Can the hosts show how they relate to the 12 Principles of Liberty with no preparation?  Listen and see.

"Billionaires, the Economy, and Socialism "

How does a Billionaire's Club pact, Timothy Geithner, John Boehner, Obama, Biden, and a $600 Million public school in California relate?  Whether it be in the White House or your own house, principles of economy are the same.  Are the spending habits of Washington similar to the spending habits of your family?

"Why the President is RIGHT on the Mosque...and why he is wrong"

Conservatives, including some United in Liberty Members, are having a fit over Obama's recent statements regarding the proposed Mosque in the shadow of Ground Zero.  How could he be so insensitive to the families of the victims of 911 to put an Islamic Mosque near the site where Muslim terrorists killed so many?  Dustin and Joe spend an hour talking about why Conservatives are wrong and Obama is right.  Yes, you read correctly...'Obama is right!  They also talk about why he is wrong and why this does not matter.  It is an emotional argument that is being made though the principles being ignored are more important.  In the speed round;  IPOD maker suicides, getting arrested over baggy pants, and what do bears and marijuana have in common in Canada?

"Steve Forbes on Socialism and 10,000 Moochers Living it"

Steve Forbes tells the country why Obama's 'Soft-Core Socialism' is destroying our way of life and how we can begin to fight it.  Meanwhile, 8,000 to 10,000 socialists line up to get free housing that does not even exist!  Rosie marries to defy Bush.  Lindsey Graham 'follows Jesus' and votes for Kagan.  And the 'Undocumented Capitalist' responds to Harry Reid's idiotic statement regarding Hispanics and Republicans.  Note:  Though Dustin indicates in this episode that Lindsey Graham is 'openly gay,' it should be corrected that the truth is, he is not 'openly.'

"Referendum on ObamaCare, Treason, and Videotaping the Police"

Missouri passes a Proposition on ObamaCare...the first democratic vote on the issue.  What does that tell us about November's elections?  A Private First Class is accused of treason.  What is treason and is the penalty fitting for the crime?  Finally, can you get in trouble for videotaping a law enforcement officer?  You could if you do not know your rights.  Are you getting educated?  Are you acting to change your community?  Are you helping to educate others?  This week, Dustin goes solo on these issues and more.

"Decency and Debt"

Whose job is it to decide what is decent and what is not?  Are you happy about the recent District Court's decision NOT to dictate what can and cannot be shown or played on television and radio?  Where are the principles?  What does this issue have to do with property rights?  Arizona and tourism along with our good friend, Barney Frank in the Speed Round.  Also, the CBO has come out with some interesting predictions concerning our country and debt.

"Choice and Accountability"

The 'Paycheck Fairness Act,' just another form of socialism.  There is nothing 'Fair' about it.  Also, we passed the Health Care Law.  Now it is time to see what is in it.  Wait a minute; where did that come from?  A new Gold Tax?  In the Speed Round, Three celebrities....one principle.  Finally, what does the new F.D.J. agency do?  Find out on this edition of United in Liberty Radio.

"NRA and Dividing the Loot"

Stealing is wrong.  It does not matter whether someone does it personally or it is done as part of a group...it is still wrong.  Furthermore, if the government does it, it is STILL wrong.  Oh, it may be legal, but it is still immoral.  Those who hold out their hands for a piece of the loot pie are also in violation of principle.  Sure, they may not have done the actual stealing, but wanting and taking a part of the loot division is no better than the act of stealing.  Once again, the NRA is in violation of principle.  They have put their wants and agenda above that what is right.  Dustin and Joe also discuss publicly funded abortions as part of the Health Care Law.  Looks like Joe Wilson may have been right when he said the President, "You Lie!"  NAACP, the Black Panthers and the TEA Parties are also discussed, and what is Governor Christie of New Jersey doing that is principle-based?

"It's Recess Time for Dr. Donald Berwick"

Dr. Donald Berwick is a Harvard Professor, an ascribed socialist/communist, and the next head of the Medicare/Medicaid bureaucracies.   What?  Never heard of him?  You mean, you missed the hours and hours of Senate committee confirmation hearings?  Oh, that's right...'cause there were none!  It did not start with Obama.  Presidents have been using the old "recess appointment' trick for many years.  In fact, George Washington, our first President, used it.  There is one big difference though....Washington used it as it was intended to be used.  Find out the difference between George Washington and Barack Obama in this edition of United in Liberty Radio.

"Elena Kagan, the Living Constitutionalist"

Who is Elena Kagan?  There is no doubt, she will be our next Supreme Court Justice, but who is she?  What is it she really believes?  Using her own words, Joe and Dustin show why Kagan is no Originalist.  Does she even believe in something as fundamental as Natural Law?  Elena Kagan is a moving target.  Even a question as simple as, "Did you write that memo?" cannot be answered with a "Yes" or "No."  In the Speed Round, Nancy PolosII and the New Stimulus Plan, Pete Stark and the tragic Minute Man Killings, and the NRA.  Also in this episode, find out about Dustin's close encounter with a real Big Foot.  This one solves the mystery once and for all on whether or not they actually exist.

June 30 2010 - "Idaho Up Close with Mike Adams"

Continuing the conversation from June 24, Dustin and Joe were invited on a local, Idaho talk radio station, "Idaho Up Close with Mike Adams."  After hearing the show on June 24, Mike invited the Co-Founders on his show to explain to his listeners this disturbing trend of laws which seek to put the gag order on anyone willing to speak up for freedom.  In this show, an Idaho light is shown on the problem with calls taken from various individuals in the local area.

"Silencing the Grassroots Organizations"

In the State of Washington, you are considered a lobbying group if you and a few concerned citizens talk informally together about politics.  As such, you are required by law to register with the State and include your name, address, business and occupation, and the same for each individual who 'spreads your message.'  To not follow lobbying laws (even for an informal, political chat around the water cooler) in Alabama and New York will land you in jail.  So goes an article on BigGovernment.com by Jason Adkins entitled, Grassroots Lobbying Laws Shut Out Ordinary Citizens from Politics.   Dustin and Joe dissect this article and apply principle to the message.  How would these laws affect the Sons of Liberty meeting beneath the Liberty Tree in 1775?  How do they affect United in Liberty and any, ordinary citizen who has an opinion.  First Amendment?  What First Amendment?  Also, a new feature to United in Liberty:  The Speed Round (only this one was not too speedy).

"Taking on the NRA and Going Greene"

Are the hosts of United in Liberty Radio going liberal?  In this episode, Joe Olivas and Lifetime NRA Member, Dustin Harris take on the National Rifle Association for their recent 'back-room deal' with the Democratic leadership in Congress.  Principle is Principle and when an organization...any organization...chooses to not stand for truth and what is right, United in Liberty Radio will take them on.  Also, Alvin Greene, the South Carolina Democrat candidate for Senate is taking a lot of heat in Washington, in his own state, and in the media.  His crime?  He was legally and legitimately elected by his constituents.  That is right.  There is "elephant dung all over the place" but no one seems to know which elephant spread it.  In fact, there is no direct accusation...much less proof...anywhere to be found.  Listen in to find out how this story relates to Principle #6 and Principle #7 of the 12 Principles of Liberty.

"Deceit and Force"

We live in the greatest nation on the earth.  In this country, we can still exercise our right to speak our mind.  Man has the right to have and voice an opinion.  Healthy debate is a part of the American way of life.  Each side can voice their beliefs and strive to back up and support their beliefs with fact.  When one side has proven their side...when one side has shown that they stand on the side of principle...what is the other side to do?  There are but three choices; concede, deceive, or resort to physical force.  In this episode, Dustin and Joe delve into the 'Cry Wolf' project and how it attempts to move forward through the open and blatant tactic of deceit.  Also discussed is the recent altercation between the Progressive activist and the Tea Party member where physical force ensued...and you'll never guess from which side.

"Government Vs. Private Enterprise"

There is no doubt, this country has problems.  Whether it be the National Debt, Pollution, Oil Spills, or apathy, there are concerns that should be dealt with.  The question is; who is best poised and who has the greatest interest in dealing with these problems; Government or Private Industry?  In this episode of United in Liberty Radio, Joe and Dusting discuss Generation-We, the BP Oil Spill, America's ever-present slip to socialism, and the general apathetic nature of the 'consumer' mentality.  In a truly principle-based society, it is the private ownership of a company, land, or property that is best able to solve the woes of today.  Join us to find out why.

"The Alamo, BP Oil, Public Schools, and Exploding Donkeys"

The great State of Texas (its history and its current pride) is discussed.  How does the British Petroleum oil spill and the lack of money in the public school systems relate?  Are we in a mindset that the Government can solve everything?  How do we begin to change that mentality?  Self-reliance vs. dependency is debated.  And, for fun, suicide donkeys in Israel.

"The Tea Party 'RAGE' and Incumbent Primaries"

After 18 years of 'service' in the United States Senate, Bob Bennett (Rep-Utah) has been defeated at the polls.  His own party sent him a pink slip.  Why?  His 2008 vote for TARP.  You think the voters have a short-term memory when it comes to unprincipled votes?  Think again.  Another DEMOCRAT was ousted by his party this week?   His sin?  The Health Care Bill.  That is right....Democratic voters sent a Democrat packing for supporting a Democrat issue.  Super Tuesday is just around the corner.  Do you know where your candidates stand and what their voting record is?  Learn who else is in trouble and why Principles really matter when it comes to who we vote for on this episode of United in Liberty Radio.

  "The Proper Role of Government"

What is the proper role of government?  Would it be better to have no government?  Do we have too much government.  Dustin and Joe discuss various laws currently being proposed or on the books such as the FDA limiting our salt intake, Philadelphia imposing a 'soda tax,' Detroit city banning the wearing of deodorant,
and Gilbert, AZ calling a private Bible study illegal because it violates zoning ordinances.  Where will the madness end?

"Immigration and Elephants"

Joe and Dustin break down the Arizona Immigration Law. What is the elephant in the room regrading this new law? What is in the law? How will it affect the upcoming elections and does it adhere to or violate principle?

"Arguing with Liars on Health Care"

Now that health care reform has passed, the media is in a full-court press to sell you and I on the idea.  At United in Liberty Radio however, we are committed to the truth.  The bill was as unprincipled as the law.  Dustin and Joe parse the May 2010 cover story in Money Magazine.  What you will need to know to combat the untruths and propaganda out there.

  "Directive 10-289"

In the 1957 fictitious book, Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, a decision is made to pass Directive 10-289.  The result is a destruction of the U.S. Economy.  The Directive cannot be sustained because it is unprincipled.  In 2010, the non-fictitious-yet still unprincipled-Health Care Reform Law has now been passed.  The similarities between the new law and Directive 10-289 are incredible.  Dustin and Joe outline the similarities between current laws and Directive 10-289.  Listen to why we cannot sustain the current directives on this pre-tax day version of United in Liberty Radio.

 "Nukes and V.A.T."

Obama's new Nuclear Policy.  His belief in socialism at home extends to his foreign policy as well.  Playing Monopoly or Risk with Barack could be an interesting evening.  It has only been three weeks since the Health Care Bill became Law.  Already, the administration is talking about a Value Added Tax (V.A.T.).  How this type of tax works and why they are floating it rather than a national sales tax.

  "Cannibalism of Capitalism"

Capitalism is the target of the Health Care Law.  Federal Government using intimidation tactics on big companies who are being affected.  The 'Cannibalism of Capitalism.'  Why Civil Disobedience will not work this time.  Our next step MUST be finding principle-based Representatives.

 "Proper Role of Government/Health Care"

What is the 'Proper Role of Government' when it comes to our Health Care?  A discussion on the House Floor speeches Sunday and how they stood up to true principles.  Now that it has passed, what do we do next?

 "Deem and Pass"

Health Care and the 12 Principles of Liberty, "Deem" it passed and how the Founders would have looked at that.  Health Care is not about "Health" and is not about "Care."  It's about control and the destruction of freedom.
